Position Summary:
Manage and supervise the planning, lay-out, installation of all necessary rigging components for lifting and installing equipment, machinery, pipe, steel, etc. in accordance with all plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of the foreman and leadmen under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safety, correctly and efficiently. Work with or supervise the other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
Essential Functions:
1. Use Effective verbal and written communication skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.
2. Plan, diagram and lay-out for rigger?s work.
3. Read and understand plans and project specifications. Visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
4. With regard to that portion of the work assigned, develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications; and plan, lay-out and install equipment, machinery, pipe, steel, etc.
5. Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures that arise or that may be encountered.
6. Inspect subordinate?s work for compliance with the contract plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
7. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
8. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
9. Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
10. Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
11. Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility.
12. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
13. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
14. Be able to perform all of the essential functions of craft workers under his/her supervision. Perform task planning to safely and efficiently carry out all aspects of that work assigned. Train/teach safety practices, policies and procedures related to an employee?s assigned tasks and ensure that foremen do the same. Gain and complete understanding of the scope of work and the related parts of the project. Develop a thorough understanding of the project plans, specifications and schedule as they relate to that portion of the work assigned; and review with foremen/leadmen at the start of and throughout the project. Delegate and communicate safety concerns, work scope, plans, budgeted manhours and schedules to the foremen and leadmen. Plan and communicate with the warehouse, purchasing and supervisor to assure that an adequate supply of tools, materials and equipment are available. Monitor quality of workmanship and assure that correct construction procedures are followed and that work is in compliance with the correct construction procedures are followed and that work is in compliance with the plans and specifications. Review and approve crew?s timecards for corrections and phase coding. Prepare and monitor the progress of the work accomplished relative to the three week short interval schedule. Provide on-the-job training to subordinates. Complete performance reviews of foremen and leadmen. Understand and periodically review project master schedule. Monitor productivity rates and review with foremen/leadmen. Prepare daily reports completely and accurately. Investigate accidents and act to prevent future occurrences; prepare accident/incident reports and review accident and cause with employee. Ensure that Quality Control forms are available and being completed; review, approve and submit to supervisor. In addition, perform other job specific duties and have a basic understanding of the scheduling, material control and unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals and job cost management system.
15. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
16. Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. back-up alarms, smell of smoke, colored warning tags, warning sirens.
17. Understand and implement lockout/tagout procedures in a safe manner.
18. Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.
19. Be motivated and work productively.
Secondary Functions:
1. Perform all other actions necessary to accomplish the foregoing essential job functions.
2. Coordinate work the other crafts and co-workers on the job.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education, Experience or Formal Training:
+ Must have working knowledge of construction equipment, lifting devices, rigging tools and their capacities and working knowledge of all aspect of the rigging craft.
+ Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for the members of his/her crew.
+ In addition, must have all necessary tools.
Working Environment:
+ Ability to work in conditions common to a construction site including but not limited to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, sun, cold, noise.
+ Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
+ Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift.
Physical Demands:
+ Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
+ Climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
+ Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Possess full range of motion and flexibility.
+ The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
