Truck Technician

Plains has an immediate opening for aDiesel Truck Technician working out of the Belfield, ND Repair Shop. This position will maintain, troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and HAZMAT tankers.
Responsible for maintenance and repairs on transport trucks, trailers and pickups.
Participate in on-call rotation schedule.
Ensure proper D.O.T., state inspection and insurance papers are included in the cab data book.
May operate fork lift and/or service truck.
Familiar with all safety procedures for working with electricity, engines, compressors and material safety data sheets for related materials.
May work in proximity to significant hazards (H2S, chemicals, high voltage, elevated heights, volatile liquids, etc.), which require safety accommodations and/or procedures.
Performs state truck and trailer inspections.
Performs routine and general maintenance and repair on equipment such as diesel engines, HAZMAT tankers, turbo engines, clutches, transmissions, rear ends, a/c and electrical, performing such work as general repairs, oil changes, brake jobs, troubleshooting, electrical repairs, etc.
Completes repair orders, serves on-call duty, operate winch truck, fork lift and service truck.
Works under direct and indirect supervision.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Knows safety rules, practices workplace safety and demonstrates a positive impact by promoting safety in decisions and actions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience.
Must have and maintain a valid Class C Drivers license to operate company pickup trucks; a Class-A CDL is preferred.
Intermediate level mechanical aptitude and familiarity with diesel and gasoline engines, electronics and testing equipment.
Basic math skills required to take measurements, change speedometers, read manuals and perform service work.
Have applicable safety training, licenses and certifications for the job assignment.
Must have own tools (Tool Allowance provided).
Successfully pass pre-employment background check (including MVR) and drug testing.
Bending, lifting and stooping required in mechanic shop environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
